This inaugural global event was held in beautiful Bali with attendees from Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Australia, Portugal, England, USA, Netherlands, and Germany.
Successfully organised by Dr. Dee Dee Mahmood, and supported by Walking Football Federation Australia and Walking Football Portugal, with an emphasis on Walking Football for health, many friendships were formed and much fun was had by all.
The one day Congress included presentations and discussions from the panoply of distinguished international guest speakers, including executives from the WFA and FIWFA.
The friendly intergenerational and multinational tournament with 31 teams included children as young as 8 and grandparents in their 70s. International Referees from England, Portugal, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany and university students from Indonesia’s Ganesha University refereed in the championships. Many thanks to the Ganesha University of Education, Bali for their excellent support and commitment to the sport, showcasing it as a wonderful sport for all.
This inspirational multi generation movement is fully endorsed by FIWFA.
A World University Games of Walking Football is planned for 2026, hosted in Bali, and this should be the catalyst to promote the sport to Schools and Universities.
